As a stop gap measure I recommend you set display_errors to no in you php.ini and redirect error messages to a log file (to display errors on an production server is considered a security problem). While you are fiddling with placehere, please note that when using the front-end editing feature of joomla, an error shows up at the location of each placehere module. It doesn't hurt anything, but it is disturbing to the clients who are editing the web site content.
