Thanks for the response Eike,

When I follow the instuctions the Article in the Place Here Module is hidden instead of the Article in the content area. So how do I flip it ?

I’m using the rt_gantry_j15 template. Is the Place Here module comatible with the template ?

There is a setting “Hide Current Article” which hides the module that is currently displayed in the content area – I guess that’s what you are looking for.

What am I doing wrong ?

I used the Place here module. It works great. But happens that now I cannot see through the forest any longer together with the desig work I have to do. Please help me with a tip.

What do I have to do so the article linked to my menu item does not display (double) together with the same article with the Place Here Module on a specific page ?

Hi Frances, despite everything I’ve written I will not completly give up working with Joomla, nor do I think that J! is a bad CMS – I think it’s brilliant for non-programmers who quickly want to set up and administer their own dynamic website. But it lacks a lot of the flexibility that I need for my clients, plus I find it lacking from a developers point of view.

I noticed and liked the style of your site as soon as it opened, thank you for the content item module. With reference to your blog – i give up on jooomla – I am making my first joomla site and it is driving me mad – seems counter intuitive – i like to move things around til they look good. Any way – it is the only way I can make a dynamic website so i will continue with the struggle. thanks again frances

Hi,

it depends a little on which template is set in the module setting, but generally you can try to add a rule to your stylesheet:

.mod_placehere .contentheading {
font-size:200%;
/* etc */
}

to have styles applied to headings in the module (if you use the tableless beez template in the module settings you get proper headlines in any case).

Your module is great, I only have one question I hope you can help me: when I publish an article (using joomla 1.5) inside your module, the article’s title gets the same font style of the article’s body itself. Is any way to have the title formattd differently?

Max is right, it was totally confusing and difficult to find the download. Maybe you should just have a section called “Download” with links to the latest versions, and no comments. It was especially confusing because the module is still named “Content Item Module” in the Joomla Extensions Directory, but the name is now changed to “Place Here”

Well, the last 90 000 or so people did find it…. look on the left where it says “Downloads” and click “Module for 1.5″.

You’re right about the mishmash, though, but at the moment I have far too much paid work to twiddle around with my own website. The redesign will have to wait just a little longer.
